PLANTING AREAS
SUSTAINABLE FOREST CONVERSION IN CENTRAL VIETNAM
The goal of the project is to convert unsustainable forests and ineffective forestry plantations in the Central provinces of Vietnam
Climate change is a silent attack but severe impacts can be seen across the planet. Vietnam is one of the countries that is and will be severely affected by climate change.
Referring to the beloved S-shaped land, it is impossible not to mention the Central region – a land with harsh natural conditions. The summer is scorching, the land is dry. Winter is bitterly cold, from July to October there are constant storms and floods. Every rainy season, storm, and flood, the central provinces suffer severe consequences. The area of arable land has been reduced due to landslides caused by natural disasters, floods, drought, saltwater intrusion… Thousands of hectares of agricultural land were buried after the flood. Rivers are suffering from serious saltwater intrusion. This situation causes many cultivated areas to be abandoned, and it is even impossible to convert into growing other short-term crops due to lack of irrigation water. The consequences of last year’s flood have not been completely overcome, and next year it will be devastated again. It is unknown when the Central region will have stable development, as the negative effects of climate change are becoming more and more evident.
Forest restoration is one of the sustainable solutions to cope with climate change. Planting forests and choosing a suitable plant species is one of the project’s urgent and important tasks in order to minimize the impact of natural disasters, protect the environment, prevent erosion and water-leaching, land degradation… and bring economic value to local people.

Faced with the above influences, Bamboo Agro Forestry decided to implement the bamboo forestry project, and the central region of Vietnam was the chosen location to commence the project. In addition, there is ongoing work with local agencies to expand the scale of the project to spread across Vietnam.
- Improve soil, restore forests, raise groundwater thanks to bamboo roots and stems
- Extremely efficient “Carbon” tank thanks to the fast biomass rate
- Provides an inexhaustible source of quality wood and can replace most other wood products
- Create jobs and stable income for local people
Currently, Bamboo Agro Forestry has built a 2,500m2 covered nursery in April 2023, incubated nearly 65,000 Myanmar Manh Tong Bamboo seedlings from May 2023, and is expected to plant on an area of nearly 100 hectares in Krong No district, Dak Nong province and 50 hectares in Krong Ana district, Dak Lak province in June 2024. We continue to strive to work with local individuals and organizations to expand the scale of the project across many provinces and cities in Central Vietnam.
With all its enthusiasm, Bamboo Agro Forestry is always trying to expand this bamboo forestry model throughout Vietnam as quickly as possible. If you know of any location or areas that may be suitable for growing bamboo forests, please do contact Bamboo Agro Forestry. We are happy to share information and spread the word about our project for humanity and the environment.
Whether planting trees in general, or particularly planting bamboo and carrying out related activities, we ourselves have been contributing to environmental protection and building a sustainable future for future generations.
