Bamboo Agro Forestry - a business project for the community, which was created with a desire to write a new story about the economic and environmental future. The idea starts from building nature-based solutions to climate change adaptation. Through this initiative, we have found a groundbreaking solution which brings outstanding benefits to the community
Bamboo Agro Forestry utilise a unique Bamboo Planting Participation model where people from all over the world can take part in the bamboo planting project. By purchasing a Bamboo planting package, we will plant, care for, and harvest your bamboo. Through your purchase you will contribute to the fight against climate change, create economic value from sustainable forests, improving living standards for local farmers in Vietnam and help raise awareness of protecting forests and life on our planet.
We prioritize choosing unsustainable forest areas and areas where trees are less economically viable and transform these into sustainable bamboo forests – a plant that has proven to be a great solution for soil improvement, preventing erosion, raises groundwater levels and is an extremely effective carbon reservoir.
With the bamboo planting participation model, you purchase a bamboo planting package with Bamboo Agro Forestry, where you own your purchased tree, and from year 5 to 15 you will receive a fixed return on your investment. This is a form of sustainable investment with humanistic and environmental values. ​​Through your purchase you contribute to a greener planet, a better future for local workers in Vietnam, raising regional household incomes which improves living standards for many families in Vietnam, and generally contribute to a more sustainable global society.
We started this project by working closely with locals and local businesses, partnering with landowners to grow bamboo for a period of 30 years and sharing annual revenue. After the contract period is over, the landowner (people, businesses) will fully own the bamboo forest with the ability to exploit bamboo for over 50 years. Not only do we benefit from revenue sharing, we create jobs and pay salaries for people directly working on the project, by planting and tend to trees and other related activities. In addition, we understand that in order to improve people’s quality of life and have a better future for future generations, we need to start investing in children’s education. Therefore, part of the profits from the project will be donated to an education, – and poverty reduction fund.

- Bamboo acts as a natural carbon reservoir, absorbing and storing a large amount of greenhouse gas in its stem.
- Bamboo can replace materials with high carbon emissions such as PVC, steel and concrete whilst reducing demands for other timber resources.
- Meeting the rapid increase in demand for wood thanks to the fast growth rate of bamboo, harvesting without replanting and no harm to the environment.
- Creating products of high economic value which can be used in most traditional wood applications such as building materials, furniture, utensils, fuel, replacing most of the currently applied materials from wood. Exploit the added economic value of things growing under the bamboo canopy, such as mushrooms and medicinal plants, maintaining a healthy and sustainable ecosystem
JOB CREATION AND AGRICULTURAL TRAINING
It is important to the company to employ local farmers to carry out the planting, tending to the crops and harvest the final product. This will allow for an increase of local household incomes and improve regional living standards.

FUNDING EDUCATION AND POVERTY REDUCING ACTIVITIES
Through the bamboo-forestry project the company is committed to donate part of profits to a fund for children’s education, because we acknowledge that education is the key to changing the future and achieve sustainable development within society.
- Furthermore, this fund will sponsor training in terms of activities to help people improve their own lives. Method: Training + Initial Funding (Seedling sponsoring) + Support agricultural output = Increase living standards
Bamboo Agro Forestry’s goal is to plant 100 million trees by 2050. The more trees that are planted the more positive changes are made to the environment, the more jobs are created for local people, the more profits are generated and more is donated to the children’s education fund. From buying trees, you not only receive benefits for yourself but also join us in creating impacts that contribute to a better world.
